You allow us dignity

where we have mined the deepest trenches of our own disgrace.

Let the Princes stand in silence

I feel you moving in my womb.

I am overcome with terror

at little hands and feet wrenched away.

The agony of mucous steals my breath
thieves my rest.
Vicks steam bath.

One direction.

Thinking about Summer
and the way the sky burns itself into
each of us.
You'll be with me next time.

I am most content here in the cool
When the clouds are my friends.
I've waited for you

So long.
Calling upon someone else's faith
and asking the same questions
over again.
How I've loved you.
