Our Lamb-Baby arrived six weeks ago now, and he is the most wonderful thing in the world.

Lamb-Baby Shower
Lamb-Baby recently had a shower in tiny-baby honour. My mum and my sister, as well as my beautiful friends, did an amazing job putting together this beautiful afternoon. It was wonderful to have so many loved ones in one place at one time!

Jessie and Kirra; The Aunt and Cousin to be! |
I really, really love these girls. |
There were games; super short, no mess, and to the point. Exactly how I like it!
There were SO MANY beautiful gifts for our tiny Lambert. My family even gave us the pram of our dreams! I'm so excited about so much weird stuff. I loved researching and narrowing down exactly what kind of baby-supplies I would like to be able to experiment with. And for anyone who is as fussy and specific as I am? I LOVED the giftster.com app for putting a gift registry together.
And to finish it all off, we ate Baskin Robbins' ice-cream cake, and I got to send my friends home with a vase of flowers, all in our chosen lamb-baby colours! It makes me happy inside to see so much of my favourite colour combo everywhere.
And now...It's just three more weeks until our little one actually comes outside to meet us. It's feeling pretty squishy in there, but as uncomfortable as it can be at moments (for both of us, I'm sure!), I just can't bring myself to be quite ready to give up this symbiosis. I love having this person so close. It's been so special feeling someone grow and move, and to be able to love them right from before their very beginning. The count down is on!

If I were a...
[My favourite Jill Greenberg pictures] |
This thought pattern often leads me to this type of end point:
If I were a musician, I would want Jeremy Larson to be my producer, and Jason McGerr to be my percussionist. Jason would create something as amazing for me as he did for Tegan and Sara, rhythmically disassembling his drum kit (very quietly in the background) for them in 'Call it Off' from their album The Con.
If I were a journalist, I would want Helen Thomas to be my mentor, and I would want to have the type of integrity and courage that would lead me to ask world leaders things like, 'What is the real excuse?'
If I were a celebrity, I would want Jill Greenberg and Annie Leibovitz to take my portraits, allowing me to appear whimsical and flawless in glossy magazines like Vanity Fair.
If I made a film, I would want Thomas Newman to write the score just as memorably as his work in American Beauty and the fifty thousand other films he's worked on.
If I wrote a book, I would want it to be as elegant and beautiful as anything to do with Martha Stewart, with all of the intrigue of Pinterest and a Michael Parkinson interview combined.
[How can you not fall in love with Annie Leibovitz?] |
Prepping
We've been creating up a storm, and it is glorious! I LOVE getting to spend time with these beautiful ladies. How many teenagers do you know who would give up their Saturday to sit around and cut hundreds of pieces of paper into shape for Mother's Day centrepieces? Exactly.

Bridal Shower
The bride! |
So many weddings, right now. I am loving being involved in this next one. It's so much fun to make beautiful things for the Bride-To-Be! Her Maid of Honour did an incredible job creating the bridal shower and it really reflected the bride's personality- organised, sweet and fun.

Librarianisms
The house is a mess. My to-do list is a hundred and twelve points long. There is stuff everywhere and never enough time to get it all done...So, obviously, I thought this would be the perfect moment to re-arrange my home library. Good-bye colour co-ordinated shelves, and welcome back traditional categories.
...Wish me luck?
