Season's Change

Dear Mid-Year,
I think it is time for a real, live holiday.

I see Christmas things popping up on shop shelves and my heart sighs. It is time, methinks, for some time out from fast-pacings and schedules and crushes of thinking and up-comings.

Who's with me?
...I thought as much.

Fingertips

Have I mentioned how much I love our new computer and tech set-up? Because I do. I feel like everything I've ever touched is at my fingertips. Salut.

One direction.

Thinking about Summer
and the way the sky burns itself into
each of us.
You'll be with me next time.

I am most content here in the cool
When the clouds are my friends.
I've waited for you

So long.
Calling upon someone else's faith
and asking the same questions
over again.
How I've loved you.

Let's grow now
together
and speak with one voice
a united heart
that beats in one direction.
Can you hear what He says?
To all, to each

We're listening.

Holiday

It's a public holiday! ...thank you, Ekka. Maybe one day we'll actually consider going. To look at, umm. Animals and things? I don't know. It seems that I am lacking in zeal for shows. Oh well.

We are more about the sleeping in, brunching, furniture re-arranging and now, some painting and sketching. Definitely how we roll at Fort Lambert.

Work

I've been able to cut back my shifts at work, recently.
I'm living my first week with multiple free days...and it's pretty amazing.

I'm so grateful for this rest time that has been given to me.

Dad's Birthday

Today is my Dad's birthday. He is a pretty excellent man. He is extremely charismatic, unwaveringly integral and all-round dedicated to excellence and expensive man-toys. That picture-in-a-picture a la Inception is the man himself right there, circa 1963. Pretty excellent playsuit, right? Such a smooth dresser, even in toddler-dom.

He also has the goofiest sense of humour in the world and would endure the utmost humiliation if it gave him just a few minutes snuggling a newborn. Total sucker for babies. I love my Dad. Danny and I took the morning off from our church family to spend the morning with him and Mumma, who shouted us kids for breakfast to celebrate.

The best way to get the most out of the day? A spur of the moment photo shoot with my niece whilst waiting for post-breakfast mud cake.

...Impromptu proposal, anyone?

I think we make a beautiful couple. We will forge a such train/hairdressing salon/clothing boutique named 'Rosie's Penelope' and take the hospitality/hair/fashion industry by storm! Our future offspring shall be model-tastic wunderkinds. (She accepted, by the way).

Happy birthday, Dad. To us, your adoring fans, you'l always be cooler than Neil Caffrey!

2012

The Lamberts have returned to the wide, wide web.
It's been such a long time! I feel as though I am stretching my digital legs (fingers) as I write.

Welcome, welcome! Come one, come all as I dust off the pixels and enter The Grid once more.
